New Business Administrative Assistant - Full Time – Permanent

Recent expansion has created a new opportunity for an efficient and organised assistant to join our New Business team. This entry-level role would be a particularly excellent opportunity for someone looking to progress their legal career in the future.

The New Business team is a crucial part of our operations. This role has varied responsibilities including:

  • Dealing with incoming calls from clients and numerous establishments involved in conveyancing transactions;
  • Making outbound calls to clients to confirm the details of their property transactions;
  • Linking incoming post to recently active files;
  • Dealing with any queries or complaints from clients or introducers;
  • Completing various administrative tasks required to issue the initial documents to our clients; and,
  • Ad hoc administrative work as delegated by the line manager(s).

  • Proficiency in all of the standard programmes in the Microsoft Office suite; and,
  • A sense of professionalism and excellent personal standards.

About The Role

We are currently looking to recruit a Conveyancing Assistant.

In this role, you will provide comprehensive support to a conveyancer with their caseload. You will have great communication skills and be confident both updating clients and getting to grips with our online case management system.

The ideal candidate for us will be proactive and switched on, ready to take the initiative and provide substantial support to our very busy legal practice. We are on the lookout for an experienced Assistant, who has a proven experience in the Conveyancing sector.

Roles & Responsibilities include:

Taking instruction from clients

Creating accounts and records

Dealing with leasehold, freehold, remortgaging and land registry transactions

Processing sale and purchase transactions

Conducting searches

Conducting client checks

Client relationship management

General administration support in a busy conveyancing department

Person Specification

The right candidate will have:

  • A keen interest in legal practice and, ideally, some knowledge and experience within the legal sector.
  • At least 1 year of experience within property law.
  • Desirable but not essential is a degree or further education within law.
  • Exceptional communication (oral and written) and organisational skills;
  • The ability to adapt to a changing environment and use initiative to proactively prevent and solve problems that may arise from time to time;
  • Resilience and a positive attitude to dealing with challenges;
  • Collegiality and a team-player approach to work.
  • The confidence to speak to clients and provide a good customer service at all times.

About The Role

Are you looking for a new role in South Wales, close to Newport OR Neath train station? Due to the expansion of our conveyancing team, we have an opportunity for an experienced Conveyancing Executive / Fee Earner within both of our South Wales branches.

The main purpose of the job role is to carry a full caseload of registered and unregistered freehold and leasehold matters, in respect of sales, purchases, re-mortgages and transfers of equity. You will be dealing with clients directly over the phone, therefore great client care skills are essential. As a firm, we are open in terms of qualification, so whether you are a Property Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer, Chartered Legal Executive or qualified by experience, we urge you to apply.
