Defective Medical Device Claims

Defective Medical Device Claims

Despite rigorous testing of medical devices (such as pacemakers, orthopaedic implants, defibrillators, hip/knee replacements and surgical mesh) they can sometimes fail or be defective which proves not only dangerous but life-threatening in some cases. It could be that they have been fitted wrongly or that they are simply unfit for purpose. For example, to reference the PIP breast implant scandal where an unapproved silicone gel was fraudulently manufactured and used in breast implants all over the world which were prone to rupturing.

These medical products are designed to improve quality of life ,but if you have been a victim of a faulty or defective medical device, by being injured or your condition worsening, you would be entitled to pursue a claim for injuries.

There is usually a 3-year period from the date of the incident to contact us about raising a claim on your behalf. Contact Hennah Haywood Law as soon as possible so that we can discuss your options.
